1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Readlight application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our End User License Agreement (EULA). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Readlight is a screen light application designed for comfortable reading in low-light conditions. The App transforms your device screen into a customizable reading light with the following features:

  • Screen Light: Full-screen illumination with adjustable brightness and color temperature for optimal reading conditions.
  • Bookmark Tracker: Save and manage your reading progress with digital bookmarks stored locally on your device.
  • Sleep Timer: Automatic timer functionality to help preserve battery and manage your reading sessions.
  • Customization Options: Multiple screen themes, warm and cool light variations, and adjustable brightness levels.

All features are available to all users at no cost. The App contains no advertisements.

3. Optional Support Purchases

Readlight offers optional support purchases (Water, Coffee, Tea, Teapot) that allow you to show your appreciation for the app. These purchases may be available as one-time purchases or subscription-based options. These purchases are:

  • Completely voluntary and do not affect app functionality
  • Available as one-time purchases or subscription-based options
  • Processed and managed entirely by Google Play Store or Apple App Store
  • Subject to the terms and conditions of the respective app store

No Premium Features: All features of Readlight are available to all users regardless of whether they make a support purchase.

Subscription Renewal and Cancellation

If you choose a subscription-based support option, subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings (for iOS) or Google Play account settings (for Android) after purchase.

4. User Conduct

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your country or region.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Health and Safety Disclaimer

While Readlight is designed to provide comfortable reading conditions, we are not responsible for any eye strain, vision problems, or health issues that may result from using the App. The App is provided for convenience and should not replace proper lighting conditions when available. If you experience any discomfort while using the App, please discontinue use and consult with a healthcare professional if necessary.

7. Battery Usage

Using Readlight as a screen light will consume device battery. The App includes features such as sleep timers to help manage battery usage, but we are not responsible for battery drain or device performance issues that may result from extended use of the App. It is your responsibility to monitor your device's battery level and use the App appropriately.

8. Data and Privacy

All data created within the App, including bookmarks and preferences, is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or reading information. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services such as Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and RevenueCat for analytics, crash reporting, and purchase management. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property in the App are the property of Emre Balli, Asset Box, or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our express written permission.

11. End User License Agreement (EULA)

By using the App, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on your personal device for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license:

  • Does not grant you ownership of the App or any of its components
  • Prohibits reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the App
  • Prohibits using the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • May be terminated at any time if you violate these Terms of Service

12. Termination and Suspension

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms of Service or applicable laws. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

13. App Distribution

The App is available on Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Your use of the App may also be subject to the terms and policies of these platforms. All purchases are processed through these platforms and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any damages or losses arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

  • Eye strain, vision problems, or health issues
  • Battery drain or device performance issues
  • Data loss (though all data is stored locally on your device)
  • Service interruptions or technical issues
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Please review this page periodically for updates.

16. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App is distributed, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
